Throughout this project I found that I learned a great deal about sustainable materials, and construction budgeting through building the budget for our makerspace. I found that building materials are extremely useful for cutting down the cost of the makerspace because they make the maintenance cost drop by a drastic amount. The two work hand in hand because one affects the other and each one is very complicated so i would have to research them to the smallest degree. I found that instead of using foam insulation that if you use hay bale insulation is a lot cheaper in the long run. The hayballs would essentially pay for themselves in a few years. I also found that budgeting is a lot harder than I thought it was. Because you have to consider every piece down to the screws. By doing this you can get a more accurate view of what the end product would be. I was the main person on working on the budget. So I was really in charge of this. I found that building is a lot more complicated than I have previously thought. I now have a new appreciation of builders, and what they go through going over budget because it is really difficult to pin down the main costly things.
The most difficult part of this project was that I was gone the last week of the project which had a toll upon my participation because I could have the bigger pieces because I would be gone. I could still work on the little stuff such as the budget to get participate. This also made the tole on my group harder because I wasn't around to help them out in the final days of the project. They had to work harder than the other groups because of my absence. I still tried my hardest to get things done for the group for this project.
